First, a word of thanks to all who made Father Bill Garrott, O.P., and Brother Justin and Brother Frasatti feel so welcome during our parish mission. It was gratifying that so many of you were open to having your own faith life lifted up and renewed, as we were treated by their spiritual presence. Father Bill was impressed with so many parishioners eager to deepen their faith.

This weekend we celebrate Pentecost, marking the beginning of the Church founded by Christ. Jesus lived, suffered, died, and rose from the dead. This did not end His activity among us. His Church, which we are, continues to do His work in the world each day. Let each of us be more determined, more dedicated, to living out His presence in the world.

Let it be clear in how we treat each other, how we care for the sick and suffering, how we promote life in its fullness, how we are fed by His presence in Eucharist so we can go from our worship and be a positive influence for all we meet. Smile at the stranger, take a few more minutes for prayer, be even more generous that you usually are, be a gentle presence for those who are struggling.

Remember, no one else can be the Church but us. Resolve today that you will make your Church always His Church, and that His will may be done in all things.

May the grace of this Pentecost celebration embolden you to be a more faith-filled Catholic, a more committed Christian, and a sign to all that Jesus lives with us still. God Bless you all.
